Independent casino expertise for UK and European players

Our site exists to answer a simple question most casino sites avoid: is this operator actually safe to use?

We are a team of gambling industry professionals including former compliance consultants, casino operators, and regulatory specialists focused on one thing: helping players make informed decisions in a market where marketing often obscures risk.

Our team has reviewed and tested licensed operators across the UK and European markets, with combined experience spanning compliance, operations, and player protection.

We do not operate casinos. We do not hold a gambling licence.

We are an independent publisher.

Who We Are

This site was founded by practitioners who spent years working inside the gambling industry in compliance, product, and operations and saw first-hand how often critical information is hidden behind promotions, bonus offers, and affiliate incentives.

Too many review sites prioritise conversion over clarity.

This site was built to do the opposite.

Our contributors have worked with and advised UK Gambling Commission licensed operators, as well as businesses regulated in Malta, Gibraltar, and other European jurisdictions. Our work focuses on licensing integrity, player protection, and regulatory compliance, not marketing.

Our Independence

We earn revenue through affiliate partnerships. This means we may receive a commission if you click through to an operator and register.

However:

  • Commercial relationships never influence our ratings or recommendations
  • Operators that fail our licensing or safety checks are not featured
  • We have removed operators following UK Gambling Commission licence suspensions and downgraded ratings after sustained withdrawal delays reported by players, including where commercial relationships were in place

Our role is to evaluate operators, not promote them uncritically.

What We Look For

Every operator we review must pass four non-negotiable checks:

1. Verified licensing

We confirm licences directly through official public registers, including the UK Gambling Commission public register at gamblingcommission.gov.uk and the Malta Gaming Authority licensee database at mga.org.mt.

If a licence is missing, expired, or suspended, the operator is excluded.

2. Player fund protection

We assess how customer funds are held and disclosed, including the UK Gambling Commission’s classifications of protection levels in the event of insolvency.

3. Responsible gambling safeguards

We require UK-facing operators to support tools such as GAMSTOP, deposit limits, reality checks, and self-exclusion in line with current regulatory requirements.

UK-facing operators are required under LCCP Social Responsibility Code 3.4.1 to offer deposit limits, and we verify these are available before any rating is published.

4. Fair and transparent terms

We review bonus conditions, withdrawal rules, and account restrictions against UK consumer law and regulatory standards.

Operators with misleading or one-sided terms are clearly flagged.

How We Rate Casinos

We do not rely on operator claims.

Our reviews are based on real account testing, including:

  • Depositing and withdrawing our own funds
  • Testing KYC and verification processes
  • Evaluating customer support responsiveness
  • Using responsible gambling tools as a player would

This includes identifying cases where operators meet regulatory requirements on paper but fall short in practice, particularly in withdrawal processing and account restrictions.

We also monitor regulatory updates, enforcement actions, and player complaints on an ongoing basis. When standards change, our reviews change with them.

Our Position on Player Safety

Gambling should be treated as entertainment, not income.

For most adults, it remains recreational. For some, it can cause harm.

Our position is clear:

  • We only promote licensed operators
  • We prioritise player protection over promotions
  • We do not recommend services that bypass UK safeguards for UK players

Every review includes signposting to support services such as GamCare and BeGambleAware, alongside clear information on available player protection tools.

The Team

Emma Massey, Founder
Former compliance consultant with 11 years of experience advising UK Gambling Commission licensed operators on LCCP adherence, anti-money laundering controls, and audit preparation. She became focused on the gap between how casino operators are marketed and how they actually perform against licensing and player protection standards.

Transparency

We are a publisher, not an operator. We do not provide gambling services and we do not accept player funds.

  • All commercial relationships are disclosed
  • All content is produced independently of operators
  • All reviews are based on verifiable checks and direct testing

This page reflects current UK and European regulatory standards as of 2026.

Gambling involves risk. Never gamble with money you cannot afford to lose.
